Conveyancing Quality Scheme
Posted on 10th January 2019
At MG Legal, your Lancaster law firm, we are proud to be accredited by the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Standard (CQS). You may, however, ask what this means and why it is important?
The Law Society introduced the Scheme, in 2011, to provide recognition to firms of solicitors whom specialise in residential conveyancing, including MG Legal, your solicitors in Lancaster. Solicitors firms are required to apply for such accreditation by undertaking a specific assessment process and meeting a certain set of criteria before accreditation can be successful. Accreditation can, however, be rejected, therefore, your solicitors in Lancaster are required to continuously maintain a high level of service and professionalism. Your Lancaster law firm is then required to re-apply on a yearly basis to continue being recognised with a mark of such excellence and to uphold this.
The Scheme was introduced with the aim of preventing fraud and improving the standard of residential conveyancing services being provided. Your solicitors in Lancaster have taken this within their stride and have been recognised in complying with the criteria set out by the Scheme.
Your solicitors in Lancaster have achieved this recognition, but you may ask, what does this mean to you?
1. This means that MG Legal have been recognised with a mark of excellence in residential conveyancing,
2. The accreditation gives confirmation that the firm is credible and trustworthy,
3. It is also reflective of an efficient and high level of service.
With this in mind, contact your Lancaster law firm today with your conveyancing queries and our solicitors in Lancaster would be delighted to be of assistance.
Recent developments to the Scheme have introduced proposals for independent assessors to conduct site visits to the solicitor firms applying for this quality mark, to ensure they can meet the aims of CQS. This would, evidently, help streamline the firms which receive the accreditation. The proposals have also suggested that ‘Corrective Action Reports’ will be issued, following the on-site visits. In effect, such developments are further strengthening the mark of quality and it’s meaning which, MG Legal, your Lancaster law firm, are proud to hold.
