MG Legal’s personal injury solicitors are presently dealing with a number of cases where it is thought that clients have contracted Hepatitis A, from Medjool Dates. Sainsbury’s has issued an urgent recall of certain packs of their Taste the Difference Medjool Dates, stating that there is a possibility they could have been contaminated with Hepatitis A. 

Hepatitis A is a viral infection which affects a person’s liver, causing symptoms such as tiredness and a general feeling of unwell, joint and muscle pain, a raised temperature, loss of appetite and sickness, amongst other symptoms. The affected products are both 200g and 500g packs of Taste the Difference Medjool dates with the supplier/site code K0014 EW. According to Sainsburys, packs with other codes are not affected and do not need to be returned. The dates have been available online and in Sainsbury’s stores since Christmas Eve, as well as being sold through Simply Fresh and Dobbies. 

 

Sainsbury’s say that they have suspended all supply from the specific supplier under investigation, and have confirmed that all affected products should be returned to store for a full refund.
