Making an asbestos compensation claim

Our no win no fee accident at work solicitors discuss asbestos compensation claims, and how we can help with your claim today.
Here at MG Legal, our accident at work solicitors know just how dangerous asbestos exposure can be, and how devastating mesothelioma can be for people and their families. Our team specialising in asbestos claims in Preston and across Lancashire know that the north-west, being a region with such industrial roots, sees a significant number of people suffering from asbestos exposure, and subsequently making asbestos and mesothelioma claims. We often work with clients who have lost loved ones due to mesothelioma, and help them to claim the financial compensation that they deserve.
Current Lancashire asbestos compensation claims:
In January 2022, our asbestos claims solicitors were made aware of two ongoing legal cases relating to men who sadly passed away due to asbestos cancer and mesothelioma, but were unaware of how they came into contact with the hazardous substance. The first, James Blower, from Oldham, passed away from mesothelioma at the age of 81, and his daughter is now seeking his former workmates to come forward and aid in establishing how her father became exposed to the hazardous asbestos. After suffering from breathlessness in early 2019, James was referred for diagnostic scans, and a lung biopsy, and the next year was diagnosed with mesothelioma, but sadly passed away only days later. Doug Ormsby, from Liverpool, also recently died from mesothelioma at the age of 66.
Am I eligible to make an asbestos compensation claim?
If you have been diagnosed with an asbestos-related health condition in the last three years, then MG Legal are here to help you make a no win no fee asbestos claim for finical compensation. Or, if you have lost a loved one due to an asbestos-related illness, or a loved one is too ill to make a claim on their own behalf, you could also be eligible to make a claim with our specialist asbestos illness solicitors.
Time limits involved in making a no win no fee asbestos compensation claim:
Typically, under the limitation act of 1980, anyone who suffers from an injury or illness at work has a limitation period of 3 years from the date the incident occurred within which to make an accident at work claim for finical compensation. However, there are exceptions in industrial disease compensation, such as asbestos claims.
Because of the nature of asbestos exposure, and asbestos compensation claims, most people do not suffer from the asbestos exposure, and develop any related health symptoms, until many years after they are exposed to the hazardous substance.
For this reason, there are no time limits involved in asbestos compensation claims relating to when you were exposed to the asbestos. Whether it was 5 years ago, or 50 years ago, you are still eligible to make an asbestos compensation claim in exactly the same way. Instead, the 3 year time period for mesothelioma claims and asbestos claims begins only when a proper medical diagnose is made of the asbestos-related disease.
