How To Negotiate Child Contact During COVID-19
Posted on 28th April 2020
As we all get used to living life working from home, maintaining our distance from others and children being on one big long holiday from school, there has been lots to accustom ourselves to. I personally am only managing to keep track of the days simply because of the NHS Clap on a Thursday evening!

Our Family Law Solicitors in Lancaster are used to receiving calls from parents about child arrangements, but we have been receiving an unprecedented amount of calls from families who have been affected by COVID-19.
The Government has issued clear advice as to Social Distancing and clarified that where parents do not live in the same household, children under 18 can be moved between their parents’ homes. CAFCASS has also assisted with further guidance.
Whether you follow the Government advice, the Cafcass advice or the recommendations from Sir Andrew McFarlane, President of the Family Division, you will find that everyone is saying the same thing. In these uncertain times you must think about the Child's or Children’s welfare first. You must consider what is in the child’s best interests.
