10 Good things to happen to your local solicitors in 2019
Posted on 24th December 2019
As your local Solicitors in Preston and Lancaster, more often than not we find ourselves talking about serious, and sometimes even sad, topics, such as divorce, separation, death, or when a client gets injured.
To finish off our ninth year as your local solicitors, we thought that we would focus on a slightly-happier topic: ten of the best things to have happened to us this year (in no particular order, for those of you wondering!).
We gained a new Business Consultant!
Dave, as he’s known to his friends, joined our team in March 2019, as our ‘business consultant’. As his profile explains, Dave can be seen out-and-about around Garstang, Lancaster and Longridge, and is always keen to meet and greet our clients.
Chloe Cardwell and Sarah Lees are Solicitors!
A fantastic day for us all, our Chloe Cardwell and Sarah Lees qualified as Solicitors in 2019, and are now heading up the Property Department together!
Chloe and Sarah have been studying and training for just under seven years to become qualified, and are now fully-fledged solicitors.
We couldn’t be any prouder of the girls, and we cannot wait to see how they flourish as solicitors, and members of our team, over the coming years.
Our Wills and Probate Solicitors in Preston (and Lancaster) signed up for Certainty!
To many of our clients, this won’t mean a lot. However, to our Wills and Probate clients, this service offers them an additional peace of mind that, on their passing, their loved ones will be able to check whether they have a Will, and make sure their wishes are followed. You can read more about Certainty, here.
And, the best part of it all, this new service comes at no additional costs to our clients!
We’ve published hundreds of articles, answering legal questions!
Since our first blog of the year on New Year’s Day, our team have published over 300 blogs, on a range of topics.
Our team of property solicitors in Preston and Lancaster have covered the top reasons for moving home, to home reservation schemes, to the process of buying and selling property. Our team of Wills and Probate Solicitors have covered the difference between mutual or mirror Wills, why you should have a Will in place, and the difference between probate and letters of administration. Our family law solicitors in Lancaster have answered some of the most commonly asked questions about consent orders and divorce, as well as frequently touching on child contact issues. Finally, our team of injury compensation solicitors have covered Medical Negligence compensation claims, road traffic accident compensation claims and have reported on plenty of law changes that our clients need to be aware of!
Our team have also published a series of blogs called ‘Common Legal Questions’ to help keep our clients as informed about common legal matters as possible.
Getting au-fait with Dementia
Our team of Lasting Power of Attorney Solicitors in Lancaster have arranged a meeting with the helpful team at Longridge Dementia Friendly Community to find out how we can make sure our offices are completely friendly for people who have dementia.
We will also be discussing with them the chance to offer the people of Longridge who are part of the group, a free coffee morning to discuss Lasting Powers of Attorney, including what these are, how they are used and why they are useful.
New this year, our Longridge office has been given a makeover!
We’ve brought all of our office signs up-to-date to make sure that all our clients in Longridge know where our offices are: 2 Calder Avenue, just off Berry Lane.
With new signs, comes new clients, too, and we’re getting even more people popping in on a daily basis, just to say hello.
We’re entering our 10th year of practice!
Having offered a whopping 60% off our legal fees to celebrate our 6th year of offering legal services in Lancaster and Preston to our clients, our team just cannot believe that we’re now heading into a tenth year! Yes, you heard it right, our tenth year – doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun!
Being part of the MG Legal team is great, and we’re so lucky to be celebrating having long-standing members of our team. Our Philip Cranage has worked in the Personal Injury Compensation Claims department for the past 10 years, and our Lucinda Wyer has been a member of the Family Law team in Lancaster for just over a year!
This year, our Wills and Probate Department gained another lawyer – Lorraine Gill. Lorraine has over 15 years’ experience in legal firms, and is an expert Wills drafted, and can deal with any matter from Probate applications, to dealing with all the administration of an estate, to drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney.
