Does my lease agreement have to be written or can it be verbal? 

It is very rare to have an oral lease agreement as they can be very difficult to enforce. Should there be a dispute, without a written agreement in place, the Courts would be relying on one person’s word, with a written agreement in place the Courts will be obliged to uphold the terms set out within the agreement.
